6 Have been with Vodafone since arriving in NZ from UK 3 years ago, where we lived in a large city with excellent broadband speeds and good mobile signal/coverage. We now live in a tiny rural village in the Waikato and I was expecting a much slower connection speed and poorer mobile service than we had in the UK. I have been very pleasantly surprised! We chose Vodafone over any other NZ provider as their combined broadband /incl international calling plan was the best value for money. The connection never drops out, and the speed is as good as we had in the UK even though we are now miles from an exchange. All this for $130 a month. We have never needed to contact their Customer Services Dept as we have never had any problems, so I cannot comment on how good /bad they are at resolving issues but I would recommend Vodafone to anyone. And no, Ii don't work for them! 27 April 2011

14 Max C.S Unreliable, entire Vodafone service crashes at least twice a month leaving the user with no internet access or internet access with a ping of 1000+ to a local server. Support is next to pathetic and logged complaints never get resolved. I will repeat that this service is EXTREMELY unreliable. I see no reason to remain or even start being a customer with Vodafone as all other ISPs in New Zealand can provide the coverage and service that Vodafone provide, and provide it better. 1 December 2011

23 Syamsul I am a big fan of Net Neutrality, With ISP's being owned by content prurcoeds or distributors there is far too much temptation for them to do a little "tweaking" to shape the data we receive into whatever they want it to be. ISP's should be big dumb pipes with minimal, protocol agnostic Quality of Service practices, anything else WILL be abused by the ISP's at some point to serve their own agendas. Oh and mandatory limits for data logging and retention would be good as well, some middle ground like say six months or so would provide greater privacy for the digital world where privacy has been so far, sadly lacking. 29 October 2012

25 ewhels since joining vodafone I have experienced a myriad of issues from missing cables in the modem provided, to usernames not being allocated back end meaning my internet status although online was not able to access the internet, to misleading information regarding plans from the sales person to what we are actually being charged, to long waits for activating a landline and hours upon hours spent on hold and talking to support people that majority of which was rude and useless and never call back to resolve issues. I cannot tell you how much I wish id gone with a different provider the service with vodafone is a joke, the worst ive experienced living in UK, Aus and NZ. 21 June 2013

30 SL Average wait period on phone is over 40 minutes! This is just to sort out the mistake they'd have made on billing then Vodafone subsequently cutting off broadband services. Then it took them over 4 days to reconnect the services. Never again! Would not want want my worst enemy's to suffer at their incompetent hands. Terrible value for money considering the service sucks. Avoid at all cost! For a fraction more, choose better companies who actually provide customer services. 7 March 2014

36 Kevin changed from orcon a couple of years ago because they offered adsl 2+, but noticed speed drop. Stayed last year as they gave me a good bundle. This year changed plan with sales rep being quite inaccurrate to dishonest when downgrading my plan as they say my last plan was only for 1 year. Was billed quite different to what they said. Now I pay more for less. I should have cancelled my plan. A big regret. 9 May 2014

41 M Rolo Arrogant greedy Multi-National bully boys, accountable to no-one. Their $17 late payment charges (despite paying EVERY month !! but outside of their billing cycle (which they admitted they can change to suit)). They advised that this is to run their debt recovery dept. They refused to provide proof that my account had incurred them any such charges (It hadn't). When questioning why (in the previous 31 months of paying them within a 2-3 day period EVERY month they suddenly decided to start charging me late payment fees, they simply stated it is down to the "agents subjectivity". 50 Ange Outrageously, infuriatingly long waiting times on the phone to get through to their underpaid call centre staff in the Philippines, not New Zealand, (40 to 50 minutes on average). When you actually do get through it's an absolute struggle to communicate as neither parties can actually understand each other. One, of many, examples was when my new modem went 'missing' in the post. Turns out the tele op, rather than re-new my order, had completely cancelled my order. Understood about two words of our entire conversation. Are very quick to add 'late payment' fees, due to their unique version of a calendar month. So many examples of poor service - I would not recommend them to anyone! 7 January 2015

51 Wally hope you never have anything got wrong with your account/service unless you want to spend hours each day listening to the same 5 songs on hold and then still having no-one ever answer you, then also ignore your emails, then when they finally respond weeks later, promise to credit you for the loss of service/overbilling problem, then never actually apply the credit so you have to ring again the next month, and repeat infinitum until you scream in frustration! 11 January 2015

53 J I deliberately avoided vodafone by choosing telstraclear, on their cable network, fantastic service, great speed and reliability. Vodafone bought telstraclear! The day vodafone took over, the speed dropped noticeably, it now takes up to 20secs to open a page sometimes. This never happened with telstraclear but after hours upon hours on hold, I am assured that they(vodafone) have changed nothing. Must be a coincidence or my imagination maybe..............? Even had dealings with their managers and given a 'personal contact' to sort things out....they also don't return calls. Internet cut out randomly, then when using the landline, 6 modems and a technician later the problem still exists! Lost my automatic payments even though the customer number was attached to the payment! Requested a final bill so I could leave, still waiting 2 weeks later! The list goes on and on. 60 Nick I would not recommend vodafone. They are taking the piss (and the money) I did have adsl through telstraclear. I was on a plan for 4 years. Joined just before Vodafone bought them out. 4 weeks ago I tried to change plan. It took 3 weeks as they were so useless. I talked to call centres in Phillipines, India, truly international team. Finally I got through to someone in New Zealand. Some of my previous calls were not even in the log. That was frustrating. Finally I thought I had it. Agreed with representative that I would get unlimited. Unlimited trouble! It took another few days to get it going but something must have been lost in the translation. Day after it changed I logged in set up my 5 best mates. Then went back to same page and they were not there. Is it a bug, is it a feature. So I entered them again, we will see on next phone bill. Oh, forgot to mention that. I had just paid my phone bill for previous month and I logged in and I had a bill for the whole of the next month. WTF, after a couple of days a bill for a month? Wonder if I will get a bill for both plans at once. This was just too much. I have had broadband in several countries and this has been by far and away the worst experience ever. I write this as I am waiting on the phone to get through. Have been waiting over 30 minutes for technical assistance. I guess the lines are busy. NZ internet sucks!! Thankyou Telecom and the greedy buggers taking all the money out of the country. After 25 years of using the internet we are still on the same crappy copped cables they got on the cheap from NZ telecom. PS in europe faster more reliable unlimited broadband with free international calls is available for 30 euros a month (<60$NZ) Well I guess that is about all, still waiting for technical assistance to pick up the phone after 45 minutes... Waiting... Vodafone you suck!!! (had to reiterate in case anyone missed this vital point that I am trying to make) [I have written all this while on a phone call on sunday morning. I would like to use internet but it does not work. Phone call has been 45 minutes so far. Support guy asked me what I would like to do. I would just like to have broadband. I am now on hold while he talks to second level support...) I hope I can get through to customer retention after this call to cancel my contract. I can't afford to keep trying to get a service. 65 Sandy In a word hopeless! Initially all was good for several years but we sold and shifted into a rental transferring over our ADSL no problems at all. Sweet. We then upgraded to fibre - install fine but it took them 6 months to sort out the billing. Then we brought a house 😳 We moved in 2 months ago giving Vodafone 3 months notice but alas we still wait after numerous phone calls to various call centers outside of NZ. Hopeless as with previous commentators. We now only deal with emails to Vodafone so we have an amazing paper trail that one day will make an interesting comedy sketch. One day we will get connected but we could do without the grief and utter frustration of dealing with such incompetence. The wheel turns.....but the hamster is dead! 75 I was sold the package which looked attractive and priced well, I can't believe how nieve I turned out to be. You do get what they offer but only in small quantities, the internet drops out regularly, I can't remember the last time I had a mob call at home that didn't drop out. I have spent the 40hrs in 3 weeks trying to get an internet reconnection after they disconnected me for no particular reason. I have had an absolute gutsfull. 82 Rose Id love to give good review to this internet provider but I can't because I NEVER GET INTERNET CONNECTION TO EVEN GIVE A REVIEW ON IT! I have contacted Vodafone a million times and they still haven't fixed the damn issue.. i never get internet connection and when I do it lasts 2 mins and cuts out again.. Been like this for months and months now sort it out Vodafone. 85 Janet Just changed from vodaphone as broadband kept disconnecting and could not get reconnected until late at night to do essential business like tax returns. (Helpline no help on this one) Arranged to keep one of my old email addresses for a monthly fee until able to set up new address and notify contacts. However they cut off this one and kept the old address that almost no-one uses. Rang 3 days ago to change to the one I had asked for in the fist place, worked for 3 days and hey presto today it has been changed back again. Why would anyone do this? only thing I can think is thath they must treat their staff so badly that said staff are sabotaging the service to sink the company. Steer clear of anything to do with Vodafone. I am going to change my mobile as well now in case they go bust and there is suddenly no service. 17 October 2016

88 Sue 0800 number helpline always a long wait. 30min waiting time is normal. Have to call so many times to get one problem sorted. changed to fiber but still waiting on my modern have been 3 month now. internet slow, slow and slow, drop off all the time. 93 Rose I forgot to pay the bill and was cut off. Didn't listen to their telephone messages as they came at the wrong time . I didn't know i was going to be cut off and had no way to communicate as my cell was on that bill as well. i payed the bill and then waited the hour it said it would take to reconnect. I went to the mall and said i had no communication could they reconnect me. They couldn't find my payment and hung up on me. i went back to the mall 24 hours later and I swear they put my payment up and now there was $10 I hadn't paid. Borrowed a phone from their customer service rep and paid it. Waited on phone for an hour and then they told me they still couldn't find my payment. 3 days later without anyway to ring them from home.....their o5o8 number you can't even connect to, a friend came round and i spent another hour discussing how they had cut me off with a text of a an email. I live alone and I didn't even know if i could call emergency services. 4 December 2016

Ran the gauntlet of the overseas so called customer service. God they are oppressive.

After touching base with the management swapped to an "up to 200 mbps plan" Have never got anything over 80 and 75 seems to be the norm. I don't think that Vodafone ever have any intention of honoring their advert.

Cant wait for Fibre to arrive and I'll leave Vodafone like a shot
